The Sanctity of Life
from Conception until Natural Death
Letter to Pastors
Pastor,
Your congregation needs your help. We need your help.
The Task
Force on The Status of Women and Children have invited Girls Inc. to St.
Johns County. On the surface this organization seems to be
very worthwhile, in actuality it is nefarious. Its teachings on
sexuality are diametrically opposed to our values, and those of
conservative Christians. Girls Inc. offers their programs in churches,
schools, hospitals, etc. to girls as young as six years old.
The first Seminar by Girls Inc. was scheduled for January 28 at Flagler
Hospital.
The following quotes are from the Girls, Inc. website (www.girlsinc.org):
- Girls, Inc. on abortion- "Girls Incorporated supports a woman's freedom of choice, a constitutional right established by the U.S. Supreme Court in 1973 in Roe vs. Wade"
- Girls, Inc. on Lesbian, Bisexual, and Questioning Identities (Resources for Girls)-"In fact, girls who know they are gay at an early age may have particularly high self-esteem"
Girls Inc. and Planned Parenthood are in the Duval County schools claiming that their programs reduce pregnancy and STDs. Those supporting Girls Inc. claim that they brought it to St. Augustine because of the high rate of STDs in the county.
The truth is revealed by the statistics from the State of Florida. (See the Florida Factsheet.) According to the State of Florida, in 2004 the St. Johns County total Gonorrhea, Chlamydia and infectious Syphilis rate per 100,000 is 94.6. This is the second lowest rate in the State. Duval County's rate was 770.5, which is the third highest in Florida!
Duval County had 8391 abortions in 2004, one of the highest rates per population in the State, and had the highest rate of second trimester and later abortions.
The mother of The Task Force on Women and Children is the Women Giving Alliance. In 2004, the Alliance issued a report named "Voices Heard." A quote from their Reproductive Health Chapter: "If you cannot control your reproductive life then you are really not much more than chattel. Women on the First Coast suffer from a decided lack of reproductive freedom. Only in Duval County can women obtain an abortion or receive abortion counseling."
Unless your church members are informed, this program will hurt
children. Please present the petition to your congregation
and return them to us at:
